Stayed up through the night just to finish CATS. Our final proposal the next morning was horrible and unfinished.

our group got to go last cause of something benefits (MUAHAHAX) which is omgishly great cause we would jus die if we went up like that. Not to mention, we had another week to do up everything nicely =)

Slept in the library for abt 2 hrs only to wake up to a big puddle of mucus each time -.-
My nose is like a waterfall. -___-" *sniff*

*sniff* Y.E.P. camp at 6.00. Hope its gonna be good. =/ *sniff*

Sick with a hoarse voice and a nose running so fast my hand cant keep up with it.

zzz, I'm sniffing every few seconds; of around 5 secs or less intervals for the past few hours

Rock climbing was dam good. I actually climbed over an inclined bouldering wall. woots.

Too sick to blog properly

Footprints
Sunday, July 26, 2009

As dusk approached, there I was, alone. Seated by the sandy beach, my toes buried in the cold sand, watching as the sun disappear from the horizon. The sea breeze in my face as I huddled in my tattered maroon cloak. Life. I pondered, tears welling up in my eyes. As the dark slowly enveloped the night, I cried myself to sleep, cuddled up beside a moldy log.

I felt a gentle pat on my shoulder. I awoke and looked into the stranger's eyes. He smiled and nodded. He patted the ground and sat beside me, and looked towards the sea. I was surprised, but I didn't mind the company. Turning my gaze back towards the endless stretch of water, I could see an orange neon orb rising from the other end of the ocean, peeking through the waters. The beginning of a new day.

The stranger stood up and dusted his tunic. He turned around and with outstretched arms he spoke, "Come my child, let us go." I didn't know who he was, but his sincerity and care compelled me to accept the invitation. We strolled along the shoreline, soaking our feet in each passing wave. We hadn't spoke much, but I could sense he knew my every thought.

He took my hand and started swinging to the rhythm of our footsteps. I tried to slip it out, but his grip tighten, in an assertive yet gentle manner. It was such a long time someone held my hand, almost forgetting how it felt. I relented, allowing the warmth of his palm to reach mine. I was afraid but an insurmountable joy filled my heart. My cloak of poignant anguish was lifted off my shoulders. I felt the warmth this stranger possessed.

I felt like a kid again. Without worries, without sadness, just a carefree sensation. He released my hand. My stroll turned to skipping, and then to jumping, and then to running, fighting back the resistance of the wind. In moments, I was exhausted, but it was worthwhile. "Father", I called out to him. Even before I could complete my request, he hoisted me onto his shoulders, lifting me to a greater height. I waved my hands in the air imagining I was flying, knowing his steady arms were always there to support me.

It was a full moon that night. We sat by a small fire, under a beam of moonlight. The sizzling of our fish cooking, the soft sounds of waves crashing. We sat together in deep commune. He told of many great stories. I was filled with awe. I could hardly fathom the immeasurable miracles he experienced. When I got tired, he laid me down by my usual wooden refuge, weaving his fingers through my hair. The sound of his soothing melody slowly faded.

Morning came. I woke up eagerly, in hope of seeing my companion. Could it just have been a dream? Beside me laid the pile of soot and crisp wood. Had he left me? I spotted a figure further down the beach and ran towards it. What I saw puzzled me. There, another boy was. Knees tucked to his chest, snuggled under a stained garnet cloth. That sense of familiarity. A voice spoke within my mind, "Its your turn now."

Turn Time
Thursday, July 23, 2009

wow, while in the train on the way to class, i saw two kids, probably aged around 6 or 8 playing quite happily, the big brother was tickling the small brother, and both were having a great time.

Brings back memories when I was a kid, where despite our differences, we were stuck together like magnets, inseparable.

but now, strained by our differences and thinking, we are nothing much but mere strangers, maybe just a "hi" or "haha" every now and then.

I kinda miss those times, we used to role play, cars, megazords from power rangers. when we were innocent, not much to think about =/

If only I could turn time...

Tasered petrol-sniffer bursts into flames

An Australian man holding a container of petrol and a cigarette lighter burst into flames after being tasered, police said yesterday

Mr Ronald Mitchell, 36 was sniffing the fumes for high, suffered third degree burns to his face, arms and chest after the incident. He is in critical condition at the hospital.
A known violent offender, Mr Mitchell allegedly ran at police brandishing the fuel and lighter started on fire.

The incident comes just weeks after a man died in queensland after being shot 28 times a taser.

Now is that cool or wat? Live pyrotechnics.

Will you too?
Tuesday, July 21, 2009

"if you don't see me the next few days... it was nice knowing you all."

A simple innocent sentence that brought forth a maelstrom of emotions; anxiousness, worry, rage, panic, envy.

Having people being flustered over a message like this was certainly new to me, especially when believing in my own judgment that everything was fine. Things even got slightly heated.

From my perspective, analyzing personality, style of speech, I was pretty sure it was just a joke. Yes, I could understand why everyone else was on red alert, but I just couldn't see it their way. Not that I was ruling out any possibilities.

But what had me stirred was their reaction. The basis of their actions. I pushed it to see if it was real... and it was.

I could feel the calcified wall crumbling again. My heart shriveling with overwhelming emotions. Recluse emotions from that dark abyss shadowing

My heart wrung. And I'm hooked to that feeling of heartaches. Indulging on enamoured despair.

It isn't anyone's fault. Really.

It's just something from my past. Something I lacked, something I sought, something I fought for, something I gave up on, something I knew I was still searching for deep down.

Witnessing it again flooded that deep empty pit, surfacing debris of past hurts.

Picturing myself there, fantasizing those desires, something simple yet far-fetched.

Will you too?

find a dirty rag and take it too a room.
take it into a dark room, almost nothing except the shape can be seen.
under a dim light, stains appear vague and faint, only showing those big ugly ones.
turn it a little brighter and hey, certain things get more obvious
switch on every light from every corner, up down left right,
suddenly, things dun look so clean after all.

Complacency.
Everything seems alright, feels alright
The closer we draw to God, the dirtier we seem.
Sometimes we think we're 'not-too-bad'
But a far cry we are from being holy..
Cleanse us from our sins God, cleanse me.

All of us have become like one who is unclean,
and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;
we all shrivel up like a leaf,
and like the wind our sins sweep us away.

Isaiah64:6

Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;
wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

Scars.

I love scars. Don't worry, I'm not emo or anything, slashing my wrist whenever I feel bored. Each scar signifies a memory. It represents the eternal memory of something that happened.

In casual recollection, a little digging is required to retrieve these precious thoughts and might not be fully recalled. With a scar, looking at a mere scratch line or an unevenly coloured patch of skin instantly plays a vivid flashback of its origin.

For example, I have a stitch scar on my head. Its story? My best friend ka-pow-ed me in the head while playing tabletennis, embedding his racket into my forehead, spilling forth torrents of gushing blood when he dislodged it.

okay okayyy, no drama...
He waved his racket into my head while playing doubles. While I was grabbing my head in pain, he told me there was blood flowing down the side of my head. Blood? O.o I went OMAIGAWDZ and let go of my hands and blood spilled (YES I USED "SPILLED") from my head all over the floor, marking it with crimson graffiti.

Shocked by my newfound talent for art, I froze for a moment. Coming to terms with my pro-ness, I pressed on to my head while appreciating my unintentional artwork. It looks as though someone tripped over his shoelaces and splashed a bucket of paint. Ok well, I did, but my head IS NOT a bucket, even though I used "spilled" previously...

So there, now I have this bloody memory of my best friend hardwired into my mind, engraved into my body, almost for ever.

There's another one by a silly girl who decides to pinch me for fun probably to test the elasticity of my skin, leaving a ")" when she let go. Ok lor, so i added two more lines, making it a "=)". But now the eyes kinda faded away leaving behind the smile haha.

And hey, one nice long streak ony my arm too. In a game of tag with friends during primary school. OMG I'm surrounded, how? I decided to jump through a bush while running from friends as a shortcut. I appeared from the other side of the bush a changed person. Who knew the bushes were full of thorns... red slashes all over. =/

Right, so just treat each scar as imprints of precious memory instead of blemishes. You'll have plenty of stories to tell too. =D

100% attention
Tuesday, July 14, 2009

This week's schedule was full of seminars. By Corne Bekker =)
Its super good okayz, first time ever, a speaker has captured my full attention.

-Weds-
Brought Yvette and ZK for Wednesday's session, =D
Zk came over to my place first after his project meeting
WritComm's elearning class online chat. LOL, omg it was super fun I tell ya. They were so much laughters and Irwin was there messing with our opinions on the criminalisation of abortion.

Waited for Yve, who was latez [hatharhar]... So we, (or I) decided to get a lift from my mom. HAHA, make Yve feel so paiseh after that.

We pei, ZK go Macs after service Kope-d half of his fries while and webcamming Vic, who looked terribly emo cause she didnt know abt us going out. =/

Tried all kinds of silly ways to make her smile and cheer her up. I even had to do the silly omgznowayplz "pony" handsign, then see her laughing away at it. Oh oh, omg, the other two had me 'liking' random people's statuses on FB. -.-

After the meal, guess what? There wasnt anymore buses left... We went to MRT station and yup, no more trains left either. LOL ZK lives in AMK btw... Zk was nice enough to cab us home =)

-Thurs-

HAHAHAHA OMG ZOMG SADDED YET GLAD MUCH
The seminar on thursday was a day seminar sooo I decided to skip school.

People arorund will go "haha you ponned school, so good". I'm not too really glad about that actually. I would love to go class rather, I'm not the type that miss classes okayz, unlike some people skip class for fun for some silly talent development program thingy. haha

but truly, its a big sacrifice to me. I have a perfect attendance streak for ITABS class, (although many of you people dun care a hoot abt that), its something i hold dear to my heart. =( But then, focusing on God makes it all worthwhile. God won't shortchange you. =)

Sometimes its hard to lay down the things we enjoy or want, say like money, time, friends, but all it takes is that step of faith and courage. Surrender them at the altar, and you'll see the blessings and miracles of God unfold before your eyes.

KAYZ WTH!!! I really need to goo get a freaking jacket. OMG PEOPLE OMG
I SAT UNDER A AIRCON FOR 6 HOURS. FREAKING COLD OKAYZZZZ ZOMG I WAS FREEZING. MY FRENZ WITH JACKETZ ALREADY COMPLAINING COLD COLD COLD. WHAT ABOUT THE SKINNY DUDE WITH JUS AN 'AIRY' SHIRT. ZOMG NOT TO MENTION THE CHAIRS WERE HORRIBLE, MY BACK HURTZ LIKE MEGA SHITZ NOW.

Oh, and I over ate the buffet lunch, omgz, i was struggling to keep away. Keep fading in and out of consciousness. =/

Kayz kayz, nice song i found again. =)

Take a look at the lyrics, its awesome. Let God be our focus of our lives. May it be our prayers tonite.

I'm tired Lord.
Thursday, July 9, 2009

Cell didn't go as well as my expectations for it. =/
didnt prepare well...
forgot my stuff
first time too

Oh wells.

I'm tired. Just really tired. School work has been a real strain on me. My health, my mind, my spirit is failing. I just want to let go, just let go of everything and just fall back into Your outstretched arms.
"Father, carry my burdens, lighten my load, for I am exhausted and can go on no more."

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matt 11:28)

Dear brothers and sisters, all those who are tired, weary, those who are unable carry on, would you look towards God, would you reach out for His hand.
May He grant you peace, comfort and the sweet rest your heart desires.
May He give you the strength to push on, to fight on, to continue this journey, this walk, hand in hand with the Father.
May God refresh your spirit, rejuvenate your soul and renew your heart
Oh God would you fan the fire of passion in each and everyone of our hearts.

O soul, are you weary and troubled
No light in the darkness to see
There's a light for a look at the Saviour
And life more abundant and free

Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace

His words shall not fail you He promised
Believe in Him and all will be well
Then go to a world that is dying
His perfect salvation to tell

Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace

O, Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace

Psalms 23:1 -2

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside still waters.

Titanic + Iceberg + Sinking *bloop bloop bloop* = Fairytale

My innocent classmate Ashleigh thought so. lol haiiizzz.

and lols, her potato chips got stuck in the vending machine. So the kind me donate 70 cents to buy a new one. And... first one dropped but the second one got stuck. Then Sarah beside the vending machine yelling on top of her voice. Guess what? Presumably, the sound waves from her loud voice shook the machine and plop, down came the second pack. =)

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Played some sociology game on social stratification
10 peeps left on Titanic,
1 life boat,
3 vacancies.

K, so we had to discuss abt on who should survived and who shouldn't. Here are my views.

ME - President of Titanic Shipline
Muz survive. I'm rich, the world TOTALLY needs me.

Timothy - Wife of President of Titanic Shipline.
Can make do without, I'm rich, I can always get another wife.

Xiao Hui - Captain of Titanic
Certainly nothing getting on. Who had us sinking in the first place?

Bobo - Nurse
Everybody's dying. It wouldn't make a difference...

Denise - Physician
Refer to above.

Victoria - SAF Military Commander
Army a lot of NS people, can just find any one to take over can liao.

Balu - MP
He's definitely boarding the ship with me. =)

Ashleigh - MP's child
Jus another spoilt brat, don't need to waste space.

Azlin - Retiree
Ok obvious, enjoy the last of your vacation dear.

Yea, so all in all, the rich survives whoooo. No actually, we weren't even discussing. I was just arguing on why I should survive and why the rest need not.

Other group best. Their survivors?
MP, President of Titanic and... migrant worker.
Migrant worker you ask? To help them row the boat....

My love, My passion
Tuesday, July 7, 2009

As her gaze swept by, our eyes locked for what seemed like endless bliss, yet in reality, only a mere second. My breath stolen, my thoughts stilled. My very being resonated with each ascending heartbeat, her face reconciling with the panorama of my memories with every other thump of my heart. Words, if any, eluded my speech. My frozen gaze and my opened mouth shocked with marvel etched onto the expression in reply that clearly painted my disbelief at fate.

It was her...

I am offered this course that teaches magic tricks which I really would love to go. I feel that it will equip me to reach out to people easier thru entertainment while weaving a story/message thru the act.

The problem is, the dates coincides with class, CCA, and... cell (3 C's LOL). I have always been interested in such techniques as I find them pretty useful for the future. Then again, I am to lead word for cell this coming week, and for the first time as well...

Its all about balancing the priorities. My passion, or my God. After encouragements from a special fellow brother of mine and my leader. Here I am, putting aside my wants, for His goals.

As a leader (to-be), many sacrifices will be needed. Personal time, wants, leisure, friends, but all in good faith.

I believe, as you honour God in your ways, putting His ways before yours, in all due time, He WILL bless you. Besides, when you're for Him, everything will fall in to place. I am sure, He has something greater in store for me. =)

For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Watcha call me?
Sunday, July 5, 2009

Lols. hows the new skin? =) It looked horrible on IE... I know a bit of html so a ity bity touch up here and there and it looks almost as nice as when viewed with Firefox
I was actually finding for a more erm... emoish background lolz. kk nvm.

Today's post would be on.... ME! Who else rite?! Ever since poly started, I've been labeled all kinds of stuff... So here's a short descriptive of the various names people call me. K, I cant remember all but here's some of them,

-Nerrad
>My name in reverse.
Obviously OR MAYBE NOT, some people take ages to see what it is. Often mistaken for "Nerd" -.-

-Nico Pillai
>Darren taken out cos nico pillai is an uncommon name?
I kinda like it actually, I dun use Nico cos of it being mixed up with Nicole.

-DNP
>My initials.
Used by people who find my name too long when they wanna either yell my full name out for fun or just to scream at me after getting suan/ka jiao-ed by me.

-Spinner
>What I look like when I play badminton.
Given cos I have this nice cool technique of dodging while hitting back the ball. Combine them together and it looks as though I spin while hitting the shuttle. (although many would say I look like I'm dancing -.-)

-Towkay's Son
>Rich man son.
Given by campmates cos someone just had to mention I look like one and had everybody going "YAR HOR!!". Where got lor...

-Thai boy
>Foreigner looking
Rmb me not looking local? Yea, someone decided for me to become Thai.

-Bi Lai
>The chinesification of my indian surname.
Maybe people now can stop wondering what and where this weird and strange surname comes from.

-Slug
>an animal avatar
Had to make a choice of either 'snail' or 'slug'. Snails get crushed, we get squished. Its a less terrible way to die.

-SRSB/TSB
>SB=small boy...
The hungry me was seen eating spring rolls, happily... Apparently, certain 'witnesses' say I behaved overly excited while eating spring rolls, like a small... boy...

Here's a proof that a person's names is linked to their personalities.
(Convo with badminton fren)

XH: What's your name?
Me: Darren.
XH: Haha, I have a lot of friends named Darren too and all of them are siao one.
XH: at least you're not.
Me: Erm... I am.

In the tough times of life, seek comfort under the shelter of God's wings.

The darker side of the moon.
Friday, July 3, 2009

Oops. I guess I over-did my msn msg lolz. For those that never see...

"Its all back to where it first begun. Sorry. Goodbye. - It was what I feared, til I met you. Now I know I shudn't have opened up. For distress is my doppelganger."

Okayz. I admit I was feeling pretty down. BUT not over any girl. "You" doesn't have to be a girl always right??? It can represent memories, feelings, thoughts. Personification. As well as confusing innocent readers into thinking its someone =P

=)

Was kinda disappointed when I decided change the nick. Frenz were concerned whether I might have slashed my wrists or something. Ok, cudnt be rite or not how to type. I use so much emo juice to make, and people thought I was super depressed or something big happened to me. Haha, seems like the msg was extremely emo though... ._.

Anyway, what surprised/made my day was so many people asking about me. I presume almost no one in my new social circle have ever seen me like that before, contrary to my childish, wacky, humourous, LAME, carefree image as portrayed.

BUT...

I'm fine!!! Thanks for the concerns everyone. =) Cmon, you know I'm that guy thats always laughing away at everything, anything as well as nothing rite? everythings alright now! =D

JM: Your msn nick was dam extremely emo ok.
Me: *LOL* What dam extremely? Very meh?
JM: Your recent messages were getting emo, then yesterday was emo like to the max. Still got what distress is my doppleganger sia
Me: Hahaha, er, I just write la, I didnt know it was that emo until that bad.
JM: Then when I ask you, I got even more afraid when you say it wasn't about some girl."
Me: HAHAHA WHY?
JM: People usually write emo stuff abt girls/boys, all those kind of stuff. Your words expresses you like as if so depressed like that. Like another you like that.

Lol, oh wellz...

Consoling myself it wouldn't happen again.
I knew it would catch up with me one day

You were the reason I smiled wide, laughed out,
But like a house make of cards, one puff was all it took.

By my foolishness, it all came tumbling down.
I knew not the boundaries, saw not the frowns, sensed not the misery.

So would this be it?
Junction at the crossroads?

Its too late for apologies.
There's no turning time.

Happiness becomes evanescent.
Smiles will never be the same.

Facades of facades
Masks over masks

Omg... my back is bruised. How I got bruised is dam pro. And ..... its cos I'm so skinny, my spine rubs against the chair -.- I have black spots for where each (bally bumpy whatever you call it) bone stuff is.

Gonna thrashed my record for failing an exam. Optimistically, 15 over 100. Teacher sux, notes sux, test sux. -.-

Dam dam dam dam sleepy. 5hrs of sleep per night for the whole week following with a chiong thru 1 nite for Psycho essay. poo. Currently at 42 hours without sleep. =/

Yea, another interesting funny stuff i I found while doing research.

Functional fixedness involves thinking about something only in terms of is functionality, rather than new ways in which it could be used.

for example, the American space agency NASA wanted to find a way for astronauts to be able to write notes in space, The trouble was that in space ink pens didn't always work upside down.

After much research and millions of dollars, NASA eventually designed a pen that could be used in space even if the astronauts were upside down.

The russian were also looking for a solution to this problem. What did they do? They used a pencil.
